This year marks 25 years since the California State Legislature approved the Marijuana Research Act of 1999, Senate Bill 847, which was introduced by Senator John Vasconcellos and established the foundation for what would ultimately become the Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research (CMCR) at UC San Diego. CMCR is honored to have been selected to carry out this ground-breaking medical cannabis research and also to continue upholding its mission of advancing cannabinoid science.
